Floating in the air,
in a state defined
neither by life nor death;
I watch her sleeping,
on this moonless night

She moves restless,
from side to side,
As her nightmares set in,
to haunt her
heart, mind and soul

I wouldn’t have known,
Had she not
turned around as morning broke
to reveal herself,
that she was
no one else,
but me
